Aboriginal Smoking Ceremony

Kaarla Restaurant and Bar ceremoniously launches on 28 July 2022 with a cultural evening. To cleanse and usher in new beginnings for Kaarla, the evening commences with an Australian indigenous cultural performance together with a sacred Traditional Smoking Ceremony.
This custom will be orchestrated by Sharon Winsor, an indigenous chef, cultural advisor, educator, and entrepreneur from Indigiearth, Australia, alongside her daughter Kirralaa and son Maliyan who will play the didgeridoo.
Kaarla will also welcome the Honourable Will Hodgman, Australian High Commissioner to Singapore who will grace the ceremonial launch as Guest of Honour.

The evening culminates at Kaarla Restaurant with a one-night only 4-Hands Dinner featuring Sharon Winsor and Kaarla’s Australian Resident Chef, John-Paul Fiechtner. At the heart of Kaarla’s coastal Australian cuisine is the use of fire by burning sustainably sourced native Iron Bark wood from Blue Mountains in New South Wales to cook in a custom-built wood-fired grill and oven.
